Pet Food Pantry
A New Way to Care for our Neighbors—and Their Furry Companions!
"O Lord, how manifold are your works! in wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures" (Psalm 104:25).
Saint Andrew’s is delighted to continue receiving your generous donations for our new pet food pantry—an extension of Saint Andy’s Food Pantry that serves our neighbors on the first and third Saturdays of each month. This new ministry will help us support families and individuals in our community who struggle to feed both themselves and their beloved animals as well.
At this early stage, we are simply inviting parishioners and friends to bring donations of wet and dry cat and dog food to church on Sundays or drop them off at the Parish Office Monday – Thursday between 9:00am and 2:00pm. Financial gifts are also most welcome, and checks may be made out to Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church with Pet Food Pantry in the memo line.
As this ministry grows, we are beginning to explore partnerships with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, local veterinary clinics and animal hospitals, among other organizations that share our love for God’s creatures and our commitment to serving our neighbors.
An informational meeting will happen during Coffee Hour on Sunday, August 3 in Trinity Commons Student Center.
Thank you for your generosity as we begin this new expression of care! For more information and to get involved, please contact Fr. Peter Helman, Rector (rector@standrewsbham.org).
